July gave us a lot of new ways to reach the people in your church and make your account feel more like your own. We shipped a beta way to email folks who aren't in Planning Center yet, more control over when your lists refresh, a custom subdomain for your link page, and your church's logo throughout the app. Here is a look at the highlights.
Send an email to a CSV (beta)
Sometimes you need to send a bulk email to people who aren't in your Planning Center account yet. Now you can upload a CSV of recipients and send a beautifully designed email their way, without adding everyone to Planning Center first. It is in beta, so we would love to hear how it works for your church.
Set a custom refresh schedule for your lists
Ever wish you could refresh a Planning Center list right after church instead of at 2am? You can now set a custom refresh schedule for any list from the People > Lists page. This is perfect for building automations that run right after a service rather than waiting until the next day.
A custom subdomain for your link page
Your link page can now use a custom subdomain, so the link you share feels a little more like home. We also made a handful of other small improvements to link pages along the way.
Upload your organization logo
You can now upload your church's logo to be used throughout your account, so the app feels more like yours every time you log in. You can also upload and change your own profile picture, where before we relied on the one from your Planning Center profile.
New merge tags and a clearer people import
We added merge tags for the current month and the current date (at the time of send) that you can drop into a text block in any email. We also improved importing subscribed people from a previous platform. You now get an import preview that shows who will be created in Planning Center, who already matches by email, who already matches by name, and who matches by both name and email and will be updated and tagged. No more guessing what an import will do before you run it.
Fixes and improvements
A few smaller updates that made July better:
- You can now set line height, paragraph spacing, and list item spacing on text blocks, with more control over block styling throughout the editor.
- Send us your feedback right from the bottom of the sidebar to share issues, ideas, and things you would like to see improved.
- Duplicate email templates and start a new email from a template directly in the templates table, plus sort and filter the recipients table after you send.
- You can now delete an email that failed to send, and we made the invites flow easier for onboarding new team members.
- We improved the quality of our Planning Center sync and fixed a delay between subscribing to a paid plan and your send limit updating.
- We also freshened things up by changing our brand color from purple to blue.
